After twenty years of teaching, change came knocking at my front door.  So I packed up all my goods, sold my condo, and took my daughter’s hand in mine. Together she and I had sailed through many a storm on the sea of life and this time we were ready for a new adventure. Forward moving with courage, never to look back in fear, we girls loaded up our car and headed south. A new career brings with it a lot of trepidation and self-doubt. Meandering down a new path takes immense courage and faith. My identity was bound up as mother and teacher so now what? The art and artifacts that you find here are a testament to my journey of facing fears, uncovering doubts, and befriending the unknown.

My nest is filled with an array of colorful treasures to explore. It is here that I develop new skills, discover fresh joys, and find great fulfillment in playing with a variety of media. A splendid light pours through a magnificent window, making this a bright and comfy space to create in. I find great warmth in knowing that my desk has been used by many before me, mysterious journeys which offer fervor to my quest to uncover the unknown. There is an endless collection of inspiration hidden in every corner. My assemblage of street junk treasures, randoms scraps of metals, frayed pieces of textiles, fragments of collages, quotes and poetry, and random adornments scatter the room, all tiny tastes from my many travels around the world. All this randomness finds their unique place here in my studio. It is an eclectic space welcoming of all that finds its way here. This peaceful place nurtures my soul.

The Raven is a lovely trickster whose zealous appeal for sparkly objects abounds. Raven often stands for change and empowerment.
